Record of Decision

Decision Taken By: CABINET
Decision No: D120130CAB
Date: 10th October 2012

Decision(s) and Reason(s)

Housing and Growth Statement

Minutes

The report gave details of the written statement to Parliament by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government clarifying the Government's intention to relax some planning regulations and its wider response to the Sir Adrian Montague report in relation to private rented properties. Consideration was given to making an informal response on the measures outlined in the statement in advance of more formal consultations in due course.

The Cabinet resolved that:
1) the contents of the report be noted and a response highlighting the concerns set out therein be made by means of a letter to the local Members of Parliament, signed by the Leader, Cabinet Members for Housing and Planning and Transportation and the Leader of the Liberal Democrats Group; and
2) copies of the response be sent to the Local Government Association and the District Councils Network.

Reasons: As set out in the joint report of the Director of Planning, Transport and Leisure and Director of Health and Housing.

Signed Chief Executive: D Hughes
